About Worldbridges
The vision of Worldbridges started in the 1990s with the idea of building a “network of individuals and organizations that use live, interactive webcasting and other new media technologies to help people connect, learn, & collaborate. The aim was to build a community of communities that valued civility, respect, open source collaboration, fair distribution of income, and a sense of world identity.
Along the way, many domains were purchased, and a few actually developed into active sites and online communities. Most have grown less active in recent years, but experimentation has never stopped and the core vision remains the same.
The current state of things
The network now consists of around 80 domains, representing different areas of interest. These fall into several different states of development.

Recently (or soon-to-be) published sites intended to serve as foundations for future bridge building. Ultimately, I hope these will grow into hubs of human interaction, but for now, they consist of curated content designed to be reliable, useful, and user-friendly. The aim is to provide global perspectives and diverse viewpoints. not to ‘maximize clicks’ or ‘harvest attention for profit’. Content is often produced using AI assistance, but transparently so and with human editorial oversight. Sites will also feature authentic human-produced social media content.To whatever extent business is eventually conducted across the network, it will aim to promote fair trade, decent treatment of human workers, and the fairest possible compensation to those who produce content and keep things running. Worldbridges is registered as an LLC, but there are no IPOs in the foreseeable future. While the operation needs to stay financially sustainable, profit is not our driving force.
What’s next
For now, I’m renovating some of the older sites and planting new seeded sites. It’s already been a long journey, and while I’m delighted to be actively bridge-building again, I have learned that there’s only so much that can happen without first building a team.
